Phone makers have called their displays “bezel-less” for almost a decade now, and there’s always been a sliver of black border left to prove them wrong. TECNO says its new concept finally closes that gap. The TECNO bezel-less concept phone claims a 0mm border around its screen, which the company is calling an industry first. TECNO plans to show off the device at IFA 2026 in Berlin this September.
According to TECNO, the phone uses “advanced internal stacking” along with new display packaging techniques to shave off that last millimeter of border. Most flagship phones already sit around 90 percent screen coverage. Some Xiaomi and Honor phones push past 95 percent with hidden front cameras. The TECNO bezel-less concept phone goes further than any of those and removes the border entirely.
The teaser video is a little unsettling to look at. There’s no black outline at all, so the screen appears to stretch straight to the edges of the phone. It genuinely looks like someone photoshopped a bigger display onto a smaller body. TECNO says the goal is a more immersive experience free of “distracting borders.” The company also mentioned improved touch sensitivity around the edges, which makes sense given how easy it would be to trigger the screen just by holding the phone.
TECNO has been down this concept road before
This isn’t TECNO’s first swing at a concept phone that sounds too ambitious for retail. The company showed off an ultra-thin modular phone at MWC 2026 with magnetic snap-on accessories, and it teased a tri-fold design the year before that. TECNO also has a track record of turning concepts into real products. Its Spark Slim concept debuted as a showcase device before becoming an actual retail phone.
Whether the TECNO bezel-less concept phone follows that same path is unclear. TECNO hasn’t said anything about pricing, specs, or a release timeline. For now, it’s staying in concept mode.
