As a long-time Resident Evil fan, I think the first time you encounter a Licker delivers an unmatched feeling compared to facing almost any other monster in the franchise. They are just genuinely terrifying with their exposed brain, lack of skin, razor-sharp claws, and that freakishly long, whip-like tongue.
And I know I wasn’t alone in feeling that way, given how these horrifying creatures (and I mean that as the highest compliment) quickly became one of the most iconic, nerve-wracking monsters in survival horror history.

Universal Studios Japan has just unveiled a brand-new, officially licensed Resident Evil popcorn bucket modeled after the infamous creature, and it is easily one of the coolest (and most delightfully unsettling) pieces of gaming merch we’ve seen in a long time.

Honestly, I have to put this Licker bucket right up there as one of the best popcorn buckets I’ve ever seen. It sits comfortably alongside legendary releases like the iconic Jaws anniversary bucket, where you literally reach inside the Great White’s razor-sharp maw to grab your popcorn, and that incredible Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves D20 die bucket that every tabletop fan needed on their shelf.
