Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space turned into quite the long-running mobile and PC JRPG, given it’s been going in Japan since 2017 and worldwide since 2019. But as far back as 2018, the team at Wright Flyer Studios talked about a Switch release for Another Eden. Now in 2026, we’re seeing that finally happen with Another Eden Begins for the Switch, Switch 2, and PC. To understand what to expect, Siliconera got to ask Producer Shinnosuke Hirasawa about the long-awaited console release.

Jenni Lada: The Switch version of the original version of Another Eden was first announced back in 2018. How did the team go from that first-anniversary live stream announcement to Another Eden Begins?

Shinnosuke Hirasawa: The biggest factor in our decision to develop Another Eden Begins as a console game was the overwhelming demand from fans for a console version.

As internal discussions continued, we became increasingly motivated to bring Another Eden’s story to even more fans in a new form and decided to move forward with it.

It’s mentioned that there are new story elements in Another Eden Begins. Will people playing the mobile version of the game ever get to see these?

Shinnosuke Hirasawa: As you mentioned, Another Eden Begins contains plenty of new story elements, such as character quests and New Game+ content.

At this point, we have no plans to add these stories to the mobile version.

This makes sense given this title’s place in the Another Eden series, but we hope you’ll play the game yourself and discover why we made this decision.

Are there any Another Eden Begins exclusive characters and did you consider adding any original ones during the course of development?

Shinnosuke Hirasawa: We’ve added a new playable character, Ramiu, who plays an important role in the story that unfolds in New Game+. We hope you’ll add her to your party and discover what kind of character she truly is.

How did you decide what would be the “stopping point” for the Another Eden Begins console and PC game?

Shinnosuke Hirasawa: Early in development, we decided to focus on “Part 1: The Cat Beyond Time and Space,” which remains highly popular among fans. We then added elements such as New Game+ and multiple endings to provide a satisfying console experience.

There are a number of side stories and additional characters who appeared throughout Another Eden’s years in development. Are there any plans to eventually implement them in the console version of the game?

Shinnosuke Hirasawa: We’ve already received many requests to bring the stories that aren’t included in Another Eden Begins to console platforms. In order to meet those expectations, our first step is to focus on building support for this title.

Likewise, a number of crossovers appeared in Another Eden over the years. Would it be possible to ever see them in Another Eden Begins?

Shinnosuke Hirasawa: That’s something we’ll have to see with our players’ support!

How different will some of these Another Eden Begins endings for the New Game+ be considering the stories told in the original mobile game?

Shinnosuke Hirasawa: All New Game+ endings are completely new to players of the mobile version. With 10+ endings ranging from comedic to deeper explorations of the world of Another Eden, we hope you’ll experience them all.

Another Eden Begins will come to the Switch, Switch 2, and PC on September 17, 2026.
