Capcom kicked off the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast with an update about Monster Hunter Wilds for the Switch 2.
It’s officially confirmed this version of the game will be arriving later this year on 4th December 2026. It will include “all title updates” and Capcom has also revealed hunters on Switch 2 will be able to enjoy local multiplayer with up to four hunters & “full cross-platform play”.

Additionally, Capcom has now officially confirmed the new “massive expansion” Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is coming to the Switch 2 version of the game in 2027.
Digital pre-orders for Monster Hunter Wilds on the Switch 2 open on 19th October 2026 at a special discounted price of $29.99 USD, available until 19th December 2026. There’ll also be some pre-order bonuses and a Gold Edition, which you can see in the trailer above.
A Game-Key Card release has been confirmed for $39.99 USD and comes with the base game and a Deluxe Pack voucher (including a bunch of goodies).

Capcom has also announced it will be releasing a Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo before the Switch 2 launch, so be on the lookout for that.
