Just over a week ago, Apple finally unveiled its latest iPhone 18 Pro alongside the new iPhone Duo, and the company has finally opened up sales of the new models for buyers, including pre-order shipments. That said, the phone starts at $1,199, while the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max comes in at $1,299, both of which are more expensive than last year’s models.
Available in black, silver, glacier, and an all-new burgundy finish, the 18 Pro features a new 48MP main camera with an adjustable variable aperture. Apple has opted for a design which uses a six-blade rotor mechanism, allowing for both automatic and manual adjustment when controlling depth of field and low-light capture, similar to how an actual camera lens moves.
The new phones also come with a dedicated vapour chamber which helps with cooling during intense usage with games, for example. The new handsets also feature the Apple A20 Pro chip, which has shown promising performance benchmarks, at least on paper.

It’s interesting to note that Apple has split its phone launch this year—unlike past iPhone launches, the “standard” iPhone 18 will now launch at a later date, instead of alongside their Pro brethren.
