iPhone Duo is coming October 23, but there are several unannounced features coming to its StandBy mode that were just discovered hidden in Apple code.
iPhone Duo StandBy mode will have a variety of additional views not yet seen
When iPhone Duo arrives next month, it will be the most versatile iPhone yet. That’s in part due to its two displays, but also thanks to special modes that are available in different setups.
You can use iPhone Duo folded or unfolded, in landscape or portrait, and in “seated” or “standing” configurations.
Standing is a great setup for watching videos, but it also enables a range of new StandBy features. And unlike previous iPhones, you can use iPhone Duo’s StandBy mode even when it’s not charging.
Apple showed off several StandBy examples at its unveiling earlier this month. But additional features have just been uncovered by leaker pdfu.

Per pdfu’s thread, code reveals five new StandBy views not previously announced:
- Home Camera
- Home Modular
- Flow
- Fade
- Snoopy
The first two let you view a single camera feed or a grid of camera feeds, or set up your own custom smart home controls. pdfu believes Flow will portray responsive art of some sort, and there are no details yet on Fade but it may be similar. The Snoopy face is expected to resemble Apple’s tvOS screensaver.
These join previously seen StandBy views like Analog, Digital, Classic Calendar, Weather, Photos, Memories, Shared Albums, and Modular.
pdfu’s full thread on X also reveals how iPhone Duo’s customization screen for several StandBy views will work.
