Apple could be preparing a slimmer look for its next iPad, with a new leak suggesting the tablet will get significantly narrower bezels around the display.
The claim comes from the Weibo leaker known as Instant Digital, although there’s an important catch: the post doesn’t say which iPad is getting the redesign or when it will arrive. That leaves plenty of room for speculation, particularly with several iPad models reportedly in Apple’s pipeline.
The entry-level iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air and iPad Pro are all expected to receive refreshes. The next iPad mini has already been tipped to get an OLED display alongside slimmer bezels, while the iPad Air is expected to make the move to OLED in 2027.
Interestingly, comments on the Weibo post suggest some users believe the bezel change is more likely to arrive on the mini and other models rather than the iPad Pro. One commenter specifically argued that the Pro range isn’t expected to get a redesigned appearance, while another said the Pro’s bezels still feel too wide.
There’s also some debate over what Apple would need to offer alongside slimmer borders. One comment speculated about a model with narrow bezels, a high refresh rate and an A20 Pro chip at around 5,000 yuan, while another suggested the Air probably won’t get all of those upgrades.

Of course, none of that is confirmed, and the original leak doesn’t provide pricing, specifications or even a model name. The only clear claim is that Apple is working on significantly narrower borders for an iPad. That could make a noticeable difference to the design, especially if Apple shrinks the bezels without increasing accidental touches.
For now, the iPad mini looks like the strongest candidate given the existing OLED and slimmer-bezel rumours, but Apple’s wider tablet lineup could also benefit. Until Instant Digital provides more detail, though, it’s best treated as an early hint rather than a confirmed redesign.
