Shane Gillis and his band of misfits return
When determining the top stand-up comedian in the country right now, Shane Gillis has to rank in the top five. He recently performed at at Lincoln Financial Field, which broke the Guinness World Record for most tickets sold for a comedy show by a solo comedian. Gillis somehow found time from his busy touring schedule to shoot Tires season 3, his workplace comedy, which he co-created with Steve Gerben and John McKeever.
Valley Forge Automotive Center is not a top-of-the-line store. The business is struggling with Will (Gerben), the heir to his father’s business, and his cousin Shane (Gillis) running things. While Will wants to turn things around, Shane always seems to be a thorn in his cousin’s side. The day-to-day chaos at the shop is where the true comedy lives. It’s a show where Gillis gets his comedian buddies together to do bits and crack jokes. That’s a winning recipe.

MLB at Field of Dreams: Phillies vs. Twins
If you build it, he will come
Netflix expanded its live TV coverage this year with the addition of Major League Baseball. The streamer now has the broadcast rights to the coolest game on the schedule, MLB at Field of Dreams. In 2021, MLB had a regular-season game at the baseball diamond where Field of Dreams was filmed. Surrounded by the cornfields of Dyersville, Iowa, the game is one of the best things MLB has done this decade.
After a four-year hiatus, the MLB at Field of Dreams returns this summer and will pit Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies against Byron Buxton and the Minnesota Twins. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT on August 13. The Field of Dreams game is a sight to behold, even if you don’t enjoy baseball.

Outer Banks season 5
Pogues for Life
Outer Banks debuted at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. With everyone stuck inside, Netflix subscribers spent time with some treasure-hunting teens in tropical weather. Six years later, the story of the Pogues comes to an end with a fifth season that promises to be epic.
After the shocking death at the end of season 4, John B. (Chase Stokes) and the rest of the surviving Pogues are as desperate as it gets. Revenge is on their minds, particularly with Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane), who killed their friend and stole the Blue Crown. Facing trouble in all directions, the Pogues prepare for one final stand. I’m going to miss (virtually) hanging out in the Outer Banks with this group.
