Galaxy SmartTag was launched in 2021, while the SmartTag 2 was launched in 2023. And now, it appears that Samsung is preparing to release the SmartTag 3.
However, a leak has shown that the upcoming Galaxy SmartTag will bring a new, squircle-like shape. It seems like it won’t have a built-in lanyard hole. This implies that for you to be able to attach it to your keys, you’ll have to buy separate cases.
Nevertheless, there’s a button in the centre that’s similar to the one on the original SmartTag. When you press it, it will enable you find your connected Galaxy phone. Also, when you double-press, it triggers an automation you set up using Modes & Routines.
Additionally, it’s expected that the Galaxy SmartTag 3 will feature Bluetooth, UWB, and an IP rating for dust and water resistance. It will come with Samsung Find integration.
There are no clear details regarding when the Galaxy SmartTag 3 will arrive. Though, it’s expected that early September 2026 will welcome the Galaxy Buds On, the new ear hook style earbuds, and the Galaxy S26 FE at the same time with the Galaxy SmartTag3.
