Apple’s iPhone 20 could get huge 6.4-inch and 7-inch screens

Apple could be planning an increase in iPhone display sizes for its 20th-anniversary lineup.

According to well-known Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station, Apple is currently prototyping two new display sizes for what are expected to become the iPhone 20 Pro and iPhone 20 Pro Max. The smaller of the two is said to measure 6.4 inches, while the larger model could stretch to a full 7 inches.

If accurate, that would represent a modest bump over Apple’s current flagship handsets. The iPhone 17 Pro features a 6.3-inch display, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max sports a slightly larger 6.9-inch panel. The rumoured increase isn’t dramatic, but it would make the biggest iPhone even larger without fundamentally changing its shape.

The leaker claims Apple intends to keep the same aspect ratio, suggesting the displays will simply scale up rather than becoming noticeably taller or wider. As a result, that could allow Apple to offer more screen space while preserving the familiar feel of its Pro devices.

Alongside the larger panels, the leak also points to a new bezel-less quad-curved design. While few details are shared, this lines up with previous rumours that Apple has been exploring a “four-micro-curve” OLED display supplied by Samsung. Such a design could reduce the appearance of bezels while subtly curving the glass around all four edges.

The latest report largely builds on earlier claims rather than revealing an entirely new direction. Digital Chat Station previously suggested Apple was testing a 6.96-inch display, which would almost certainly be marketed as a 7-inch screen, alongside the same quad-curved display technology.

As always, these claims should be treated with caution. While Digital Chat Station has built a reasonably solid track record for Apple hardware leaks, the iPhone 20 remains years away. There is plenty of time for Apple’s plans to change before the anniversary handset is officially unveiled.

Still, if the rumours prove accurate, the iPhone 20 could mark another significant design evolution, pairing Apple’s largest-ever Pro displays with a fresh look to celebrate two decades of the iPhone.
