Motorola unveiled the Moto Pad 70 Pro in June, which was followed by the Moto Pad 70 Groove last week. Today, the Lenovo-owned company introduced the Moto Pad 70 as the third member of the Moto Pad 70 series.

Motorola says the Moto Pad 70 is a “premium tablet designed to empower users with the perfect balance of portability, productivity, creativity, and entertainment.” Furthermore, it’s advertising the Pad 70 as the “thinnest and lightest 5G tablet,” as it is 6.49mm thick (Wi-Fi model measures 6.29mm), weighs 530g, and has 5G connectivity.

The Moto Pad 70 is built around a 12.1″ 90Hz LCD of 2,560×1,600-pixel resolution with 800 nits brightness and stylus support. Under the hood, it has the Dimensity 6400 SoC with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card.

On the software side, you get the Moto Pad 70 running the dated Android 16 out of the box, with a planned upgrade to Android 17 in the future. We find this to be a poor approach by Motorola, as Android 17 is already out, and that’s what the Moto Pad 70 should have run out of the box. Regarding security updates, Motorola says the Moto Pad 70 will receive them for three years, but time will tell whether Motorola manages to deliver on that promise.

That said, the Moto Pad 70 also comes with AI Rewrite, AI Summary, and AI Continue Writing features, allowing better use of the Moto Pen stylus. And if you ever feel like taking pictures with the tablet (we aren’t judging), there’s a 13MP camera on the rear and an 8MP camera on the front.

Keeping the lights on for the Moto Pad 70 is a 10,200 mAh battery with 45W charging support, even though the tablet comes bundled with a 68W power adapter.

Other highlights of the Moto Pad 70 include an IP52 rating, quad speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos, a USB-C port, dual mic, voice call support, and keyboard support. It also has a dedicated microSD card slot.

The Moto Pad 70, boasting a metal design, comes in a single Pantone Sea Angel color with two memory options – 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. However, Motorola has only confirmed the 256GB model’s launch price, which is INR33,999. The Moto Pen will be included in the box, but the Moto Folio keyboard will be sold separately.

The Moto Pad 70’s 256GB model will go on sale in India starting August 15 through Motorola’s Indian website, Flipkart, and leading retail stores across the country.
