Runaways is Supercat Games’ Roblox heist beta, where you rob locations, sell off stolen goods, crack vaults, and try to reach the border before the police catch up. Before any of that starts, you pick a class, and that choice locks in your starting loadout and permanent stat modifiers for the rest of the run. Anyone browsing Roblox tier lists knows how much a bad pick can cost you early on, and Runaways is no exception.

Ten classes are currently purchasable with Credz, the game’s core currency, and the price gap between them is massive: the cheapest class costs 25,000 Credz, the priciest costs 850,000. That spread makes class choice one of the biggest early decisions in Runaways, especially since several existing tier lists rank the same classes differently depending on how much weight they give to raw stats versus starting gear. Below is a ranking built directly off the stat math, plus which class actually suits your playstyle.

What Class Selection Actually Changes in Runaways

A class in Runaways bundles two things: a starting loadout (weapons, tools, and backpack capacity) and a set of permanent stat modifiers to running speed, melee strength, and health. You buy a class once with Credz, and the bonuses and penalties apply for every run afterward until you switch.

Some classes come with no downside at all, while others trade a chunk of health or speed for a stronger weapon or bigger payout potential.

Runaways Class Tier List: Every Class Ranked

Here’s the full breakdown, from the classes worth saving Credz for to the ones you should skip entirely.

    S Tier

    1. Bounty Hunter

    • Cost: 300,000 Credz
    • Loadout: Machete, Pistol, Light Bullet Pack
    • Bonuses: +20% running speed, +10% melee strength
    • Penalties: None

Bounty Hunter is the only class that improves both mobility and melee damage without giving anything back. That combination covers the two stats that matter most when a run goes wrong, speed to escape and melee strength to clear a path, which makes it the closest thing Runaways has to a class with no bad matchup.

    2. Breacher

    • Cost: 550,000 Credz
    • Loadout: Medium Backpack, Shotgun, C4, Shotgun Bullet Pack
    • Bonuses: +40% melee strength
    • Penalties: None

Breacher’s melee bonus is the largest in the game, and it’s the only class carrying C4, which matters for vault-heavy runs where breaching speed decides how much you walk away with. The medium backpack adds real storage on top of that, and there’s no stat cost attached to any of it.

    3. Smuggler

    • Cost: 45,000 Credz
    • Loadout: Small Backpack, Crowbar
    • Bonuses: +20% running speed
    • Penalties: -10% melee strength

Smuggler matches Bounty Hunter’s speed bonus for roughly a seventh of the price. The melee penalty barely registers since the class isn’t built for fights in the first place, it’s built to get in, grab loot, and get out. For new players still building up Credz, this is the best return on investment in the game.

    A Tier

    1. Juggernaut

    • Cost: 850,000 Credz
    • Loadout: Light Armor, Minigun, Medium Backpack, Light Bullet Box
    • Bonuses: +100% health
    • Penalties: -20% running speed

Doubled health makes Juggernaut nearly impossible to kill in a straight fight, and the minigun backs that up. The problem is the running speed penalty, which is steep in a game where reaching the border is the actual win condition. It’s a strong pick for crews with a dedicated getaway class covering the escape, less so solo.

    2. Medic

    • Cost: 120,000 Credz
    • Loadout: 2x Medic Bag, Light Armor, Medic Pack
    • Bonuses: +20% health
    • Penalties: -5% running speed

Medic trades almost nothing for a real health boost, and the medic bags let it keep a crew alive across a run rather than just itself. It has no offensive upside, so it’s a weaker pick solo, but it’s one of the most efficient support classes on the list.

    3. Gang Member

    • Cost: 170,000 Credz
    • Loadout: Blue Cow, Small Backpack, MAC, Light Bullet Pack
    • Bonuses: +10% running speed
    • Penalties: -5% health

A modest speed bonus for a modest health cost, backed by a full weapon and storage loadout. Gang Member doesn’t excel at anything specific, but it doesn’t have a real weakness either, which makes it a safe mid-cost pick while saving toward Bounty Hunter or Breacher.

    B Tier

    1. Contractor

    • Cost: 70,000 Credz
    • Loadout: Mace, Pistol, Light Bullet Pack
    • Bonuses: +10% melee strength, +5% health
    • Penalties: -5% running speed

Contractor spreads small bonuses across two stats, but neither is strong enough to stand out, and the class carries no backpack, which limits how much loot a run can bring back. It’s a reasonable budget combat option, not a standout one.

    2. Scout

    • Cost: 35,000 Credz
    • Loadout: Small Backpack, Bat
    • Bonuses: +10% running speed
    • Penalties: -5% melee strength, -20% health

Scout’s speed bonus looks appealing on paper, but a 20% health penalty is the harshest in the game outside of Old CEO, and it comes with a melee penalty too. Smuggler offers a bigger speed bonus for less Credz with a smaller downside, which makes Scout hard to justify at any price point.

    C Tier

    1. Old CEO

    • Cost: 40,000 Credz
    • Loadout: Gold Ruby Necklace, Diamond, Gold Tiara, Diamond Ring
    • Bonuses: None
    • Penalties: -5% running speed, -15% health

Old CEO skips a weapon entirely in favor of starting valuables, which only pays off if you’re purely farming quick Credz early and plan to avoid every confrontation. With no offensive tool and two stacked penalties, it’s a niche pick at best.

    2. Brawler

    • Cost: 25,000 Credz
    • Loadout: Knuckle
    • Bonuses: +5% melee strength
    • Penalties: -10% running speed

Brawler is the cheapest class in Runaways, and the price tag explains the stats. A single knuckle weapon, no storage, no ranged option, and a running speed penalty on top. It’s fine as a first-hour placeholder before you save up, and nothing more.

    How These Rankings Were Determined

Most Runaways tier lists rank classes by feel, which is why coverage on this topic disagrees so much. This ranking instead prioritizes penalty-free classes first (Bounty Hunter, Breacher), since a bonus with no tradeoff is strictly better than a bigger bonus with a cost attached.

From there, it weighs Credz efficiency, which is why Smuggler lands in S tier over pricier classes with similar speed bonuses. Running speed penalties also carry more weight than the raw numbers suggest, given that reaching the border is the actual objective in Runaways, not just winning fights.

That’s the specific reason Juggernaut sits in A tier rather than S despite its huge health bonus, and why Scout underperforms its price point compared to Smuggler.

Best Class for Beginners and Best Class for Solo Runs

New or Credz-strapped players get the most value out of Smuggler. It’s cheap, has no meaningful downside for early runs, and teaches the core loop of grab-and-go without needing to save for hours first.

For solo play once you’ve got more Credz banked, Bounty Hunter is the strongest all-around pick, since it improves both combat and escape without asking you to compromise on either.

Crews running together get more mileage out of pairing a Medic or Juggernaut with a faster class like Bounty Hunter or Smuggler on point.

    Final Thoughts

Runaways is still labeled beta, so Supercat Games could adjust class costs or stat modifiers in a future update. Even so, the current numbers already draw a clear line between classes that add value with no strings attached and ones that ask you to pay Credz for a net downgrade.

Worth revisiting this list after any balance patch, since a single stat tweak could shuffle these tiers.

What is the best class in Runaways?

Bounty Hunter is currently the strongest overall class, since it boosts both running speed and melee strength with no penalty attached.

How many classes are in Runaways?

Ten classes are currently purchasable in Runaways, ranging from 25,000 to 850,000 Credz.

Is Runaways still in beta, and could class stats change?

Yes, Runaways is labeled as a beta experience, so Supercat Games may rebalance class costs or stat modifiers in future updates.

Does class choice affect how easily you can escape the police?

Yes. Classes with running speed penalties, like Juggernaut and Brawler, make escaping law enforcement noticeably harder, even if they offer combat advantages elsewhere.

What’s the cheapest class worth buying in Runaways?

Smuggler, at 45,000 Credz, offers the best value in the game, matching the top speed bonus for a fraction of what Bounty Hunter costs.
