Those eager for more information on the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake might not have to wait much longer, at least not if fans are right in thinking that Ubisoft just leaked the date of the next Nintendo Direct.
This all started with a different leak: a leak of Just Dance: Decades of Hits. Though this next major entry in the Just Dance franchise was revealed in July, the official reveal didn’t really include much in the way of details about what all was in it, and didn’t even include a teaser of a tracklist. But a number of the game’s assets have leaked online since (in what’s becoming a time-honored Just Dance tradition at this point) including new information about the game via retailer leaks and, following from that, deeper leaks of visual assets and full-on tracks from dataminers using those retailer pages as a starting point.
In response to these leaks, Ubisoft issued the following statement:

“While we understand this may generate excitement within the community, we believe every player deserves to discover Decades of Hits as it’s truly meant to be experienced: with the full context and care that have gone into its creation.
“We’re committed to sharing the complete picture with you on September 10, and we sincerely thank you for your patience and continued support in the meantime.”
It’s that date, September 10, that has fans stirring things up. While for years, Ubisoft traditionally revealed its annual Just Dance game through its Ubisoft Forward event at E3, a lack of E3 has forced Ubisoft to find other venues. And for a few years recently, that’s meant Nintendo Directs. Fans are also pointing out that Tokyo Game Show begins on September 17, and Nintendo likes to hold a Direct right before that event, so the timing makes sense.
Apart from that, there isn’t really any hard evidence that we’re on the cusp of a Direct. Adept as fans have gotten at observing Nintendo’s patterns, this could just as easily be true as it could be the community riling itself up over nothing again. If we are getting a Direct, we can likely expect to finally see something of the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, perhaps even a release date. Maybe also a release date for The Duskbloods?
Meanwhile, the Just Dance community is over here rolling its eyes, as everyone seems rather sick and tired of annual leaks stealing energy from Ubisoft’s big reveal over and over again.
