Motorola unveiled the new Edge 70 Plus smartphone, a special edition Swarovski crystal Razr 70 (aka Razr 2026 in the US), the new Watch Ultra with some Polar smarts built-in, and a magnetic wireless charger called the Motorola Snap at the IFA 2026 conusmer electronics show. Here’s our hands-on with the phones and watch.
Motorola Edge 70 Plus
The Motorola Edge 70 Plus is the latest in the big Edge 70 family, which already has the vanilla, the Pro (and Pro+), the Max, the Fusion (and Fusion+), and the Ultra.
The Edge 70 Plus comes in four Pantone-curated colors. Motorola has gone beyond simply changing the paint job – the finishes use different textures and materials to give each version its own character. Pantone Mountain View is a deep forest green with a smooth, silk-inspired finish, while Pantone Gray Lilac mixes mauve and grey and uses an acetate finish. Pantone Milky Blue is a soft blue inspired by early morning skies, and Pantone Sage is a muted eucalyptus-like green; both use Motorola’s soft-luxe textured finish.
The Plus is all about the design. It’s a comfortable phone in hand thanks to its two-sided quad-curved form factor – both the front and rear glass are curved at the sides and top and bottom. It makes for a svelte and smooth surface, and it sits nicely in the hand.
The screen is a 6.78-inch 144Hz AMOLED, and it’s very contrasty and colorful. The slim bezels combined with the curved corners make you feel like you’re holding nothing but screen. Especially without a case.
Each Pantone version has a different finish on the back, which results in a completely different feel in the hand. The Gray Lilac and Sage (that’s the lighter green) are the least grippy. The Mountain View and Milky Blue each have a more tactile texture. The Blue is the grippiest of all four.
The different finishes
Let’s talk buttons, ports and openings. The SIM slot is on the bottom, next to the USB-C port, and one of the two stereo speakers. The other speaker is in the earpiece at the top. The Dolby Atmos logo is on the top rail, next to one of the microphones. The power button and volume buttons are on the right.
The sides, controls and ports
Like other Motorola phones, the Edge 70 Plus should be fairly resilient. The relatively pedestrian IP64 rating aside, it’s also MIL-STD-810H certified with SGS testing covering environmental stresses such as extreme temperatures, high humidity and high altitude. The front and rear are also protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, which Motorola claims offers up to twice the scratch resistance and improved drop performance compared with competing lithium-aluminosilicate glass. As usual, the military-grade certification doesn’t make it a rugged phone or guarantee survival under those conditions.
Pantone goodness – Gray Lilac and Milky Blue
The Edge 70 Plus is powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM, which can be expanded virtually to 24GB using Motorola’s RAM Boost feature. The Edge 70 Plus runs Android 16 out of the box, with Motorola’s familiar software treatment on top. Google’s AI features are front and center, including Gemini and Gemini Live, while Circle to Search is also supported for quickly looking up anything displayed on the screen.
Inside, the phone packs a substantial 6,500mAh battery, with Motorola claiming up to 42 hours of talk time, 34 hours of video streaming or 23 hours of social scrolling. It supports 45W TurboPower wired charging, as well as bypass charging, which can power the phone directly during gaming to reduce heat and battery wear.
You’d think there’s a lot of camera hardware, judging by the camera island on the back. You’d be wrong. You get a single 200MP camera with OIS, all-pixel autofocus, and an f/1.8 lens. It’s joined by a 2MP dedicated macro lens and not much else.
There’s a 32MP selfie on the opposite side.
Overall, the Edge 70 Plus feels like a well-rounded upper mid-ranger, with Motorola putting as much emphasis on design as it does on the spec sheet. The distinctive Pantone finishes and quad-curved body give it plenty of character, while the big 6,500mAh battery, 144Hz AMOLED and 200MP main camera cover the essentials. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is decidedly mid-range, and the 2MP macro feels like an afterthought, but our first impressions are nevertheless positive – we’ll reserve the final verdict for the full review.

Motorola Watch Ultra
Next up, Motorola’s latest smartwatch. Given its name – Watch Ultra – it’s clear that this is Motorola’s premier wearable at the moment.
It’s a 46mm-sized round watch with a stainless-steel case and Gorilla Glass 3 on top. Motorola hasn’t yet revealed the official weight, but it feels dense and weighty in the hands (and on the wrist). It’s rated IP68 and 5ATM, while battery life is quoted at up to two days with the always-on display disabled, or up to 24 hours from a 15-minute charge.
The watch comes in a classic choice of either silver or black and supports standard 22mm straps. Motorola has four on offer – the two breathable silicone options in PANTONE Black Beauty and PANTONE Mountain View, plus genuine leather bands in PANTONE Black Beauty and the brownish PANTONE Nuthatch.
The Moto Watch Ultra
Specs-wise, the Moto Watch Ultra is Motorola’s most capable smartwatch yet, built around Wear OS by Google and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 platform. It brings LTE/eSIM connectivity for calls, messages and notifications without a phone, along with dual-band GPS, Google Pay and access to Wear OS apps through the Play Store. It’s also the first Motorola wearable with Motorola Qira integration on compatible Motorola and Lenovo devices.
Fitness and wellness tracking is a major focus, with Motorola once again partnering with Polar. The Watch Ultra offers sleep and recovery tracking through Nightly Recharge and Sleep Plus Stages, the Serene breathing mode, a dedicated Running Coach, activity and intensity tracking, calorie estimates and Energy Sources analysis.
A premium timepiece
Motorola Razr 70 with Crystals by Swarovski
The Motorola Razr 70 with Crystals by Swarovski is essentially the regular Razr 70 dressed up for Motorola’s Brilliant Collection. It comes exclusively in the Pantone Meteorite hue, with a quilted soft-luxe texture on the back serving as the backdrop for 35 hand-positioned Swarovski Crystals in Silver Night. They’re individually placed across the rear panel and give what is already a fashion-conscious foldable a considerably more jewellery-like appearance.
The phone’s hardware is unchanged from the regular Razr 70. You get a 3.6-inch external display and 6.9-inch Extreme AMOLED folding display, a dual-camera system headlined by a 50MP camera, and a 4,800mAh battery, which Motorola rates for more than 36 hours of use.
The Razr 70 with Crystals
Arguably the coolest detail isn’t on the back, though. Motorola has fitted a much larger 32-facet Swarovski Crystal directly into the hinge, so it catches the light whenever you open or close the phone. It’s a neat little flourish because it draws attention to the Razr’s defining physical feature rather than simply adding more decoration to the rear. A clear protective case is included as well, so you wouldn’t have to hide all those crystals under an opaque case.
Motorola hasn’t announced a price for the Swarovski Razr 70 yet, so it’s difficult to say exactly how much of a premium all that sparkle will command. The company only says this is a limited edition that will be offered in most markets globally, with pricing and exact availability to be announced locally.
