Roborock has expanded its autonomous maintenance lineup into outdoor spaces with the introduction of the RockNeo Q2 LiDAR robotic lawn mower, unveiled at IFA 2026 in Berlin. Engineered to automate lawn maintenance without the labor-intensive installations common to traditional robotic mowers, the device targets properties requiring efficient, hands-off turf management.

The RockNeo Q2 LiDAR handles coverage areas of up to 800 m² (8,611 sq ft), making it suitable for small to mid-sized residential yards.

    • Perception System: The mower integrates Roborock’s Sentisphere LiDAR environmental perception technology to build a detailed spatial map of the yard.
    • Obstacle Detection: Built-in ReactiVision Fusion allows the unit to identify and maneuver around typical yard obstructions in real time.
    • Wire-Free Deployment: The navigation architecture eliminates the requirement for physical perimeter wires or external RTK reference antennas, significantly streamlining initial setup.

The mowing hardware focuses on close-boundary operation and adapting to uneven surfaces:

    • Floating Cutting Deck: Adjusts dynamically to ground contours to maintain an even cut height across undulations, preventing scalping.
    • PreciEdge Module: An integrated edge-cutting system trims along lawn borders and hard surfaces down to a 3 cm (1.18 inches) margin.
    • Autonomous Operation: The combination of surface tracking and edge trimming reduces the need for manual touch-ups with string trimmers.

The RockNeo Q2 LiDAR represents Roborock’s ongoing effort to expand its core automation competencies beyond indoor floor care. While the company presented a range of products at IFA—including pool cleaners, high-threshold robot vacuums, and wet-dry systems—the Q2 LiDAR marks a direct move into outdoor property care.
