While the hype for cloud gaming technology has pretty much mellowed down over the past couple of years, it goes without saying that some of the bigger players within the gaming industry have so far stuck to their guns when it comes to cloud gaming. Take XBOX for instance, which recently announced a major deal with TV giant TCL, bringing the XBOX app to select TCL Smart TVs.
Scheduled to roll out in the coming months, the integration will allow millions of users across more than 25 countries to stream XBOX games directly to their televisions without needing a console. To access the service, players will need a supported TCL Smart TV, a compatible controller, and an XBOX Game Pass subscription. Once connected, Game Pass subscribers can instantly stream an expansive library of blockbuster franchises and indie titles directly to their screens through XBOX Cloud Gaming.
According to Microsoft, the integration will support full cross-platform progression. All game saves, achievements, and friend lists will sync automatically, allowing players to easily pick up where they left off whether they are playing on a TCL Smart TV, a PC, or an XBOX console.

In other recent XBOX news, the platform finally started the roll-out of its new system that grants digital entitlements for physical games, allowing players access to features like XBOX Play Anywhere and XBOX Cloud Gaming simply by inserting a supported disc into an XBOX One or XBOX Series X console.
