Level-5 is really bringing out the throwbacks these days, huh? After years of waiting, the studio today unveiled a first look at Yo-kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain, confirming that it’ll be coming to Switch 2.
We still know very little about this one at the time of writing, but the brief teaser trailer showed us a brief look at protagonist Nate and a couple of his Yo-kai pals. It’s a remake of Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits & Fleshy Souls, which launched in Japan in 2014 before coming West two years later.
Here’s an official summary from Nintendo:
The latest entry in the Yo-kai Watch series evolves the adventures of Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits, Fleshy Souls and Psychic Specters with enhanced graphics and new content on Nintendo Switch 2. Join Nate as he befriends a wide variety of Yo-kai and embarks on the mysterious adventures that define the series. Along with new story content, players may even encounter some new Yo-kai.
We didn’t have the best of times with the original ‘Yo-kai Watch 2’ on 3DS back in 2016, calling it “a sophomore slump” that played things too safe in our 6/10 review. Let’s hope things go a little better this time around, whenever the remake launches.
