Blizzard has officially confirmed World of Warcraft: Forever, the long-rumoured “Classic+” experience.
Last week, World of Warcraft fans were obsessing over colours as dataminers pulled hues from Blizzard’s website that were labelled under a curious “wow 2” tag, leading many to speculate that this referred to the rumoured World of Warcraft Camelot, or as it’s better known, “Classic Plus”, much like how Blizzard is now expanding Diablo 2.
Now, following BlizzCon’s opening ceremony, it turns out the rumours were pretty much bang on and World of Warcraft: Forever launches globally on 4th November.

If November sounds very far away, worry not; beta access begins this Thursday, 17th September, for anyone who’s pre-purchased one of the game’s upgrade packs.
A dedicated panel featuring senior game director Ion Hazzikostas, lead Classic designer Tim Jones, lead software engineer Nora Mills, and associate production director Clay Stone went into more detail on the new regions, systems, and design philosophy behind the project.
Blizzard describes Forever as a new permanent home for WoW alongside Modern and Classic rather than replacing them. It takes place between two fixed points in WoW lore – after the new Forsaken Kingdom campaign, but before the original Molten Core raid. Players will head back to the original continents with a level cap of 60.
WoW Forever will boast three new zones from launch, along with more than 1,000 new quests, nine new dungeons, two new raids supporting both 10 and 20-player groups, new race and classes, and a brand new playable race called the Skyborne.
Best of all, no separate purchase is required, as access is included with an existing WoW subscription. That said, optional upgrade packs can be bought separately, such as the Skyborne Heroic Pack, which unlocks the Skyborne race and a starting zone early. The pricier Skyborne Epic Pack gives beta access, a month of Game Time, and additional cosmetics.
