I love The Blood of Dawnwalker. As someone who usually finds themselves sticking to the storyline and just driving through the main plot, I’ve found myself losing track of time (ironically) in the blood-drinking shoes of Coen. Vampires are awesome, and The Blood of Dawnwalker delivers these creatures of the night in a tantalizing RPG that, if anything, has changed my perspective on the genre. So, when an opportunity to get it for less than a cup of coffee comes along, you can bet your staking butt that I’m going to recommend it. Well, that opportunity has come up.

Before I get into the deal aspect, let me sell you on why The Blood of Dawnwalker is a contender for my best RPGs list. It brings the vibe and world of The Witcher, pairs it with a vampiric twist, and makes the combat much more enjoyable. As someone who enjoyed Geralt’s adventures but dropped off because of the weaker gameplay, The Blood of Dawnwalker feels like the right answer to all my issues, just drenched in the gothic goodness that I adore.

You play as Coen, who is wrapped up in a rebellion against the vampire ruler of their home, Brencis. Considering this is the opening of the game, you can probably imagine that things go wrong. Coen is turned into a vampire, his family is held hostage by the antagonist, and you have just 30 days to save them. And, to really amp up the stakes (pun intended), almost every quest, including main and side ones, takes up that precious time. No pressure.

That makes every single element of The Blood of Dawnwalker’s world feel equally important. Will you help this vampire huddled away in their shop uncover the truth behind their friends’ murder? Maybe, or maybe not. It’s entirely up to you, and that makes Coen’s story feel personal to you—the player—without making that importance feel like it’s being forced upon you. You decide what feels necessary to do.

Somehow, someway, this actually made me spend more time in the world rather than rush through it. Call it ironic, call it strange, and call it twisted, but that is the case. Despite the more pressing experience, that limit made me fall in love with the world, while the intense For Honor-style combat of directing your attacks and blocks made every fight feel as good as the last.

Right now, you could be one of the lucky players who manages to get The Blood of Dawnwalker for just a buck. Yep, that’s right, only $1 / £1. The Fanatical Mystery Crate gives you a Steam key per crate you purchase, and there’s a chance to get some real triple-A treats like The Blood of Dawnwalker for a fraction of the price. Even if you don’t get Dawnwalker, a crate is still a Steam key, so you may get anything from underappreciated indies to older games you haven’t given a chance yet.

If you decide to opt for more crates, you’ll even make the price of each key cheaper. For example, you can get 25 Steam keys for just $17.49 / £17.49, and at the end, one lucky winner will receive a Steam Machine and a Steam Controller, with each Mystery Crate being an entry ticket to the grand prize. Not bad for simply buying some games.

Disclosure: GameSpot and Fanatical are both owned by Fandom. This story was created in collaboration with Fanatical’s deals team.
