Samsung has officially started the development on the One UI 9.5 update for its latest foldables. As a result, the first internal One UI 9.5 firmware builds have been spotted for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 on Samsung’s servers.

This implies that the brand has been testing One UI 9.5 for the Galaxy S26 series for some time. The new foldables were the first to ship with the stable version of One UI 9.0. The S26 series will almost be first in line to receive the One UI 9.5 upgrade in 2027. We got an early look at One UI 9.5 on the Galaxy S26 in August, though there were some obvious changes at the time.
There’s the possibility that the brand will launch the One UI 9.5 beta programme for the Galaxy S26 series, the Galaxy Z8 foldables, and other devices later this year or early next year. Users with eligible devices will be provided with the chance to take it for a spin before One UI 9.5 officially debuts on the Galaxy S27 series next year.
Note that the One UI 9.5 will feature a new version of Android to the Galaxy Z8 series. Also, it will likely be the lineup’s first major feature update.
Additionally, beginning with One UI 8.0 (Android 16), Samsung changed its approach: the x.0 releases introduce a new Android version, while the x.5 releases feature more substantial changes and new features.
