Sony has revealed it’s been working on new and upgraded models for its PlayStation audio lineup with the new PlayStation Pulse Wireless and Pulse Edge Wireless Headsets, which are set to release soon. Both models come with tweaks to overall sound quality, and include some new hardware in the mix.
For one, Sony says that the new headphones feature studio-inspired planar magnetic drivers for more improved spatial accuracy and sound separation, helping players pinpoint directional cues and other in-game sound effects.

Additionally, both headsets support PlayStation Link for lossless, ultra-low latency audio, allowing seamless switching between PS5, PlayStation Portal, PC, and Mac, alongside simultaneous Bluetooth connectivity. They also come with built-in microphones equipped with “AI-enhanced” noise rejection, in addition to an updated form factor with rotating earcups for improved comfort, available in White and Black.
There are some differences between the two models though, as the standard PlayStation Pulse Wireless Headset features larger planar drivers for deeper bass, while the Pulse Edge Wireless Headset doubles the magnet volume in its planar drivers for a richer bass sound, adds active noise cancellation, and comes with a detachable boom mic alongside a hidden mic option, all packed inside a dedicated carrying case.
