AI video company Synthesia opened a new US headquarters in New York City on September 18, 2026, announcing a 50,000-square-foot office in Manhattan’s Flatiron District that the company said is nearly four times the size of its previous space.
The London-based company announced the move in a post titled “Building the Global AI Video Platform for Business”, bylined by Laura Gonzalez, the company’s chief of staff. Synthesia described the opening as a new chapter for the company and said it was joined by customers, partners and the local tech community, who helped officially open the space and celebrate what the expansion means for New York’s growing status as a home for world-class AI companies.
The New Flatiron District Office
The headquarters brings together meeting rooms, collaborative areas and a flexible event space, along with amenities the company said are designed to help employees thrive both professionally and personally. Synthesia said the space brings together everything its growing team needs and that, in addition to supporting business growth, the new office is designed to significantly enhance the employee and customer experience.
The office also includes a studio for visiting customers. According to the company, customers can use the studio to create custom avatars, carry out proof-of-concept work, or collaborate on video programs.
US Revenue and Customer Base
Synthesia said approximately 50% of its revenue comes from the United States and that 90% of the Fortune 100 are already customers. The company described New York as a fast-growing AI hub and said the city is attracting the talent and innovation energy Synthesia needs to scale. According to the company, the expansion allows it to invest where demand is, serve its customers with the speed and proximity they expect, and build the team to power what comes next.
The company reported that it has signed several seven-figure contracts in 2026 for its new interactive products, and described its net revenue retention as a strong 140%.
Some of Synthesia’s largest customers, including global leaders in financial services, consumer packaged goods, media and entertainment, are based in the United States, the company said. Synthesia said the new US headquarters puts it closer to these customers and gives it room to grow the team supporting them.
Changing Use of the Platform
Synthesia said the way companies use AI video is changing quickly. Two years earlier, US customers primarily used the platform for learning and development and training content, according to the company. Synthesia said those customers now use it to communicate strategy to thousands of employees, onboard and train sales teams, and create product content localized to their global customers. The company characterized that shift as a signal that AI video has become a core business communications and knowledge platform.
The company said that shift, together with its broader growth, requires it to scale its teams and its presence in the markets where its customers operate. Synthesia said it has expanded from a single video creation product into a full platform spanning video creation, collaboration and distribution; dubbing and experiences; and developer tools.
