Xiaomi has initiated the second rollout phase of its HyperOS 4 interface across the Global market and the European Economic Area (EEA). Built on Android 17, this software update is launching as a Stable Beta for registered testers in the Mi Pilot program, expanding to more flagship and premium mid-range smartphones.
Distribution is taking place gradually via OTA (over-the-air). Devices must maintain an authorized, linked Mi Account and an untampered, locked bootloader to receive the official build.
Eligible Devices and Firmware Builds:
A key highlight of HyperOS 4 is the new Soft Light Glass UI design language. This aesthetic refresh uses translucent layering, frosted glass depth effects, and subtle refractions across system menus, notification sheets, and the Control Center. The design aims to maximize animation fluidity and tactile responsiveness on high-refresh-rate displays.
Under the hood, Xiaomi rewrote core operating system modules using the Rust programming language. This structural redesign targets lower background RAM consumption, improved processor thread management, and enhanced battery efficiency during typical daily usage scenarios.
On-device intelligence also receives a major update with the Super XiaoAI 2.0 suite. The software introduces upgraded AI audio transcription and real-time processing executed directly on device hardware, offering faster task completion and increased data privacy for calls and notes.
