Apple is set to pay some iPhone owners as part of a $250 million settlement over claims surrounding its delayed Siri AI features, and eligible customers can now submit a claim.
The settlement website went live on September 21, giving eligible US customers until December 21, 2026 to apply. The standard payment is expected to be around $25 per eligible iPhone, although that figure could rise or fall depending on the number of valid claims. The maximum payment is $95 per device.
To qualify, you must live in the US and have purchased an eligible iPhone in the US for personal use, rather than resale, between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025.
The eligible models are the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
You don’t necessarily need a settlement notification to make a claim. Apple says eligible customers should receive an email containing a claim ID and PIN over the coming days, but the settlement website also provides a way to submit a claim without them.

You’ll need to provide your personal information and the serial number of the eligible iPhone. If you don’t have the serial number, the form instead asks for your Apple Account email address and the phone number associated with the device.
So, why is Apple paying out in the first place?
The lawsuit dates back to Apple’s June 2024 announcement of new Siri capabilities powered by Apple Intelligence. The company demonstrated features including personal context, on-screen awareness and deeper control over individual apps. Apple even showed Siri finding information about a user’s mother’s flight and lunch plans using data from Mail and Messages.
Those features were subsequently delayed in March 2025, leading to a class action lawsuit alleging false advertising. Apple denies the allegations and agreed to the $250 million settlement to avoid the cost and risks of going to trial.
Apple eventually announced its AI-powered Siri at WWDC 2026. It’s available on iPhone 15 Pro models and newer with iOS 27, although Siri AI remains a beta feature.
Don’t expect the settlement money immediately, though. A final approval hearing is scheduled for February 24, 2027, so payments aren’t expected to begin until sometime next year. And remember, this is US only.
