Qualcomm is considering an official solution to improve PC game emulation support on Android. To do this, the company may add proper support for DirectX 12 for its Snapdragon chips.
With this addition, emulating PC games on Android would be much easier. The YouTuber who shared this tested the capability on a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 reference device and successfully ran Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong through a translation layer in DirectX 12 mode.
It’s not certain whether Qualcomm will bring this feature to other SoCs beyond its latest chip, or whether the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 will receive this as a driver update. The latter might probably be decided by the smartphone makers.
