Lenovo’s Googlebook 15 is a bet on Premium quality: a thin metal 15.3-inch OLED machine under 3 lb, running Googlebook OS, with day-one phone handoff and Gemini. U.S. shelves open October 4, 2026, from about $1,100 on Lenovo’s list price.

That dollar figure needs a receipt check before you buy. Lenovo’s PR starts at $1,099.99. The Google Store still shows $1,149 for a 16GB / 512GB Cloud Grey config with mouse, and as of research day it was notify-only, not a live cart. Best Buy is widely reported around $1,099 for MPN 83W6000EUS, but that live page was not verified here. Ignore the older Google event figure of $1,299. It is obsolete.

What you are buying is not a Chromebook, and it is not a dual-boot ChromeOS plus Android science project. Googlebook OS is an Android technology stack with ChromeOS desktop foundations: Play apps plus desktop Chrome on one system. Phone features shipping day one include Continue On, Cast My Apps, and Files from a Google Pixel or any Android phone, not Pixel-only. Gemini lands with Magic Pointer, Rambler, and 12 months of Google AI Pro under the promo terms.

The hardware pitch is the big screen that still packs light. Official specs lock a 15.3-inch 2880×1800 OLED at 120 Hz and 500 nits with touch, starting at 1.29 kg / 2.84 lb. Inside: Intel Core Ultra 5 325, 16GB soldered RAM on the listed PSREF SKUs (Lenovo still markets “up to 32GB,” but that is not a buyable U.S. config on the current matrix), 256GB or 512GB storage, Wi-Fi 7, and a 70Wh battery Lenovo rates at 12.5 hours of video playback in lab conditions.

I wonder how many shoppers will compare this to a MacBook Air on weight and screen size before they notice the software contract is totally different. If you live on Android apps and want a premium laptop shelf next week, Lenovo’s 15-inch Googlebook is the clearest big-OLED option in Google’s first wave. Just price-check Lenovo versus the Google Store before you hit buy.
