Galaxy S27 could get a price hike – and even pricier storage tiers

Samsung’s Galaxy S27 series could cost more than its predecessors, especially if you want to upgrade the storage. A new leak claims Samsung is considering higher prices across the range, with a potentially larger gap between storage variants.

The report comes from Korean leaker Lanzuk on Naver, who claims the Galaxy S27 series could see a price increase in the “high 130,000 won range”, which works out at around $100. That would follow earlier rumours suggesting the Galaxy S27 Ultra could start at $1,400 in the US.

But the leak gets more interesting when it comes to storage. Lanzuk reportedly says Samsung is considering a “steeper rate of increase” between capacities, which could mean paying more than the usual premium when moving to a higher-storage model.

Exactly how much more isn’t clear. The wording doesn’t establish whether Samsung would simply increase every storage tier by the same amount or raise the upgrade cost between capacities as well. Previous generations have had around $200 gaps between some storage options, so that difference could potentially grow.

There’s another reason to treat this one carefully. The report comes from domestic Korean sources, meaning the quoted increase appears to relate specifically to Samsung’s home market. It doesn’t necessarily mean the US, UK or European prices will rise by the same amount.

There are also conflicting leaks about the wider Galaxy S27 range. One previous report suggested Samsung would largely keep pricing unchanged, with only the top-end model receiving an increase. This latest leak instead claims that every Galaxy S27 model could get more expensive.

The higher costs may be linked to the components Samsung is reportedly considering, including NAND storage and LPDDR6 RAM on “some models”. Those upgrades could give Samsung a reason to revisit pricing, although the source doesn’t establish exactly which phones will get the new hardware.

For now, the Galaxy S27 pricing picture is still pretty hazy. Samsung isn’t expected to settle its final prices until closer to the launch early next year, so there’s plenty of time for these numbers to change.
