And here’s what the critics had to say about Dark Arisen:
But Why Tho? – 8/10:
“Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is a fantastic new expansion that improves the base game in many ways. While some of the base game’s worst parts impact the overall experience, the negatives aren’t enough to overshadow its amazing elements.”
IGN – 8/10:
“Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is an engrossing expansion full of interesting new characters, vibrant enemies, and the wonderful wreckage of a bygone civilization.”
RPGamer – 3.5/5:
“Fans of Dragon’s Dogma 2 will find plenty to enjoy here, but those who struggled to connect with the original game may not find enough to change their minds.”
RPGFan – 95/100:
“If you loved Dragon’s Dogma but found the sequel to be a lesser, albeit still good, simulacrum of the original, or felt it was too samey, you’ll probably love, or at least find a lot to like in, the DLC’s improvements. If you already adored Dragon’s Dogma 2 as it was, you need to stop whatever you’re doing right now and spin this shit, because it’s gonna be the hottest thing smoking for you.”
Push Square – 9/10:
“Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is often Capcom’s open world RPG at its absolute peak. It’s one hell of a meaty expansion, delivering a surprisingly involved story, joyous exploration, and deeply compelling combat. A transformative DLC.”
As a reminder, the expansion is bundled in with the Switch 2 version of the game. So if you’re diving into it this week, the additional content is right there. Will you be picking this game up for the Switch 2? Let us know in the comments.
