Almost a full year after releasing on the Switch, Hitman: Absolution – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is finally hitting the eShop on 22nd October 2026.
This new version will bring mouse compatibility along with increased resolution and a new performance mode targeting 60fps in both handheld and docked modes. Those who own the Switch version already have until 5th November 2026 to upgrade for free. After that, the upgrade pack will cost $9.99 / €4,99 / £4.99.
For newcomers, Feral Interactive is hosting a 25% launch discount until 5th November, pricing the game at $29.99 / €24,99 / £19.99. Following this, the price will then increase up to $39.99 / €29,99 / £24.99.
Contracts Mode will also be available on day one. This lets players create custom scenarios within the story mode, marking up to three targets to take out in whichever method they choose. These contracts can then be submitted online, with rival agents competing to top the online leaderboards.
We awarded Absolution a score of 7/10 on the Switch. The performance took some hits, so hopefully this criticism will be a moot point on Switch 2. Otherwise, Absolution features more linear levels than other entries in the series, lacking that signature sense of freedom. Still, we reckon it’s well worth playing.
