Ever since we first saw Peak climb onto PC last year, we have been jonesing for a Switch 2 port. Aggro Crab and Landfall Games have been teasing that something was in the works for a few months, and now we finally know what it was: Peak is coming to Switch 2!
The devs revealed that this beloved indie mountain climber will plant its flag on consoles on 22nd October (yep, as in next week), making an already stacked release month even busier.
The Switch 2 version includes every content update that Peak has received in the last year, and full crossplay will be supported at launch, so you can play with a pal on PC, PS5 or Xbox Series X (the latter two launch on the same day as Switch).
For those who missed this one, Peak is a co-operative climbing game where you and your round-faced pals scale a mysterious mountain in the hopes of reaching the summit and escaping their plane-wrecked island. It has all the usual proximity chat laughs, with goofy physics, weird items, and plenty of high-altitude hilarity — there’s something about listening to your pal’s gradually fading “nooooo” as they tumble past you that just hits different.
Here’s a brief rundown of the game’s key features and a handful of screenshots:
– Climb with a total of 4 friends
– Communicate through proximity chat
– 4 different biomes to ascend through
– A bunch of questionable foods
– Lots of different climbing items
– Campfires and marshmallows
– Character customization
– Online co-op and offline single player
– Ghosts

What’s more, the devs have confirmed that a physical release is inbound. We don’t have a precise release date for this one just yet (and only the PS5 version is showcased at the end of the trailer), but it looks like it’ll come with an extra ‘Buddy Code’, so you can pass a copy of the game to a friend for free.
With this one being such a hit on PC last year, we’re excited to see whether it all holds up on Switch 2.
Will you be checking out Peak next week? Climb down to the comments and let us know.
