It’s a crazy time for leaks. While The GTA 6 leaks appear to be winding down due to Cyberleek potentially bailing with the money, another interesting leak popped up: an internal trailer for Iron Man from Motive and EA.

Before we dive into the details of the trailer, the most interesting aspect of this story is that we know the trailer is real because in a surprising move EA themselves confirmed it.

“Well, that didn’t go as planned. But now you know, and we’ve got a lot more to show you. See you when we’re ready,” said a new official EA Iron Man account on social media.

The trailer, which I can’t post here for obvious reasons, is about two and a half minutes long and is watermarked as being from August 26 of this year. It’s clearly unfinished – lots of placeholder models, faceless NPCs, missing animations etc. But what’s there is actually quite promising.

The highlight was the flying. We get to see Iron Man jetting around an unknown city and it appears to be completely free flight, so not like a pre-programed sequence or anything, and it looks awesome. Reminds me a lot of Anthem’s flying mechanics, actually.

We get to see the suit hovering, using missiles and repulsors blasts etc. And some decent looking melee combat, including grabbing enemies and slamming them into the scenery.

There seems to be different armours to wear, and customisation options, too. Hopefully we can piece together our own Iron Man suits.

Pepper Potts and Rhodes both make appearences, along with a few other notable characters.

There’s also a cool section involving flying around a massive SHIELD helicarrier. Aeriel combat looks to be a big part of the game.

All in all, I’m actually impressed. This could be a fun Iron Man game. Sure, it’s a little late to the part since Iron Man’s MCU peak was years ago, but better late than never, and the character is practically perfect for a videogame.

We’ve actually known about this new Iron Man game fo a while. Rumours were circulating prior to 2022 before it was then officially announced as in development at Motive, alongside 2 other Marvel projects. One of those projects – Black Panther – was cancelled in 2025 when EA shut the developer down.

In late 2022, Motive confirmed Iron Man was in pre-production. Then in October of 2023 after shipping Dead Space, Motive again said the game was in early pre-production. That muddies the water in terms of what stage of development Iron Man is at, and when we can realistically expect it to launch.

Assuming the trailer is indeed from August 26 of this year, there’s still a good chunk of work to be done, so I’m thinking it might not be ready to go until late 2027/early 2028. But that’s a massive guess on my part.

Amusingly, this isn’t even the first Iron Man leak this week. Around 97 minutes of footage from Avalanche Studios’ long-cancelled Iron Man game surfaced online just a few days ago, showing the Just Cause developer’s take on an open-world Tony Stark adventure. That project was being developed for the PS3/Xbox 360 era before being cancelled around 2012, and is completely unrelated to Motive’s current game.
