Activision has posted footage of one of its legal representatives turning up at the Ohio home of a notorious Call of Duty cheat seller and handing over a cease-and-desist order.

The roughly one-minute clip went up on the official Call of Duty account on Friday, although the cease and desist was actually served on 22nd August, during last weekend’s Modern Warfare 4 closed beta.

It shows a representative pulling up outside a house, meeting a man whose face is blurred throughout, and handing over paperwork.

Cheat makers operate around the world. So do we. We’re taking the fight directly to cheat sellers.

Last weekend during the Closed Beta, we went to Ohio to takedown Elocarry.

“I just got some paperwork for you,” he said. “Attorneys for Activision and, uh, it’s a cease-and-desist order for you.”

He tells the man to contact the attorney’s office listed on the documents and leaves. No shouting, no chase, no drama – just papers served on a doorstep.

The target was Elocarry, a seller whose cheats extended beyond Call of Duty to other multiplayer games including Rust and Apex Legends. Before the visit, Elocarry had reportedly been selling a Black Ops 7 and Warzone cheat pack, advertised as safe from RICOCHET detection, with three-month subscriptions priced up to £79.99.

In a follow-up post, Activision shared a screenshot from Elocarry’s Discord confirming sales of Call of Duty products had been “temporarily paused” while a “matter” is reviewed internally, though the rest of the storefront was said to remain active.

Activision said the Ohio visit as one small part of a much bigger operation, claiming it has now served more than 80 cease-and-desist demands, targeted over 375 reseller operations, and shut down more than 30 vendors entirely.

It closed the thread with a warning that more litigation will follow for anyone who doesn’t comply: “build cheats, sell cheats, we will find you”.

Elsewhere in the thread, Activision used the moment to talk up anti-cheat improvements heading into Modern Warfare 4 itself, saying that across last weekend’s beta “infection rates were lower, hardware bans were harder to evade and our time to action improved”, though it didn’t go into further detail.

Modern Warfare 4’s second beta weekend is currently underway and, unlike the first, is open to everyone, with a multiplayer test, a campaign mission, and a Warzone battle royale drop all available to try.

The first session saw five days of multiplayer action, with high player numbers on Steam and elsewhere, despite mainly being available to players who pre-ordered the game. Modern Warfare 4 launches 23rd October on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch 2. The full game includes 12 6v6 multiplayer maps, as opposed to the four in the beta.
