Belkin has unveiled two UltraCharge Pro power banks featuring its new BoostSolid Cell semi-solid-state battery technology. Debuting at IFA 2026, the range promises a longer battery lifespan, improved safety and noticeably slimmer designs than conventional power banks.
The first two models are the UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5K Qi2 15W with BoostSolid Cell and the more powerful UltraCharge Pro 10K 60W with BoostSolid Cell and Display. Both will arrive in Australia in January 2027 – so unfortunately, still a long way to go before we can get a hands on these.
Rather than relying exclusively on the liquid electrolyte found in conventional lithium-ion batteries, Belkin’s semi-solid-state design adds a gel-like layer. According to the company, this allows it to make the power banks more compact without sacrificing charging performance or capacity.
Belkin also claims its BoostSolid Cell power banks have been engineered to last up to three times longer than other power banks. A thinner design is always welcome, but a battery that retains its usefulness for longer would be a much more substantial improvement, particularly for something many of us keep for several phone upgrade cycles.
Safety is another major focus too. The new battery architecture is designed to reduce the risk of thermal runaway, fire and swelling, with stable operation at temperatures between 0°C and 40°C. Analogue and digital temperature sensors check the battery every 250 milliseconds and can interrupt power when operating limits are exceeded.
Belkin says the power banks have undergone nail-puncture, high-temperature, extreme-cold, drop, impact and vibration testing. They are designed to meet UL2056-2015 requirements and comply with TSA standards for air travel. The range is also covered by Belkin SmartProtect and a Connected Equipment Warranty, while the retail packaging is completely plastic-free.
UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5K Qi2 15W
The UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5K is the everyday option in the new range. It carries 5,000mAh of battery capacity inside a body measuring only 8.8mm thick, with dimensions comparable to a standard credit card.
Belkin says it is 40 per cent slimmer than other 5K power banks. For comparison, the Belkin BoostCharge Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5K with Qi2 that we recently reviewed measures 12mm thick. Shaving several millimetres from a power bank attached to the back of your phone should make a noticeable difference when holding or carrying it.
Qi2 certification provides up to 15W magnetic wireless charging, while the USB-C port supports wired charging. Belkin’s supplied specifications mention both 20W and 22.5W for this port, so its exact maximum wired output will need clarification closer to launch.
Pass-through charging is supported, although wireless output is limited to 7.5W while the power bank itself is connected to power. An LED indicator shows the remaining battery status, and Belkin includes a braided USB-C to USB-C cable.
The power bank uses a metal body with a soft-touch finish and will be available in black and sand.
UltraCharge Pro 10K 60W with Display
For phones, tablets and USB-C laptops, the UltraCharge Pro 10K increases capacity to 10,000mAh and delivers up to 60W over USB-C. Belkin says its semi-solid-state construction makes it 27 per cent smaller than comparable 10K power banks.
The company claims the 60W USB-C Power Delivery output can charge an iPhone 17 Pro to 50 per cent in approximately 24 minutes. The power bank itself accepts up to 40W input and can reportedly be recharged in as little as two hours.
There are two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. A single USB-C connection can deliver the full 60W, while output is shared at up to 30W when both USB-C ports are in use. The USB-A port supports charging at up to 22.5W, and pass-through charging is available at up to 15W.
Belkin has also added a smart display showing the remaining battery level, current power output and thermal information. This is far more useful than having to interpret a row of four LEDs, especially when the power bank is being used to charge a laptop or several devices.
Support for USB PD, PPS, AVS and UFCS protocols allows the power bank to adjust its output for compatible devices. It has the same premium metal and soft-touch construction as the 5K model and includes a flat USB-C to USB-C cable with slim right-angle connectors.
The Belkin UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5K Qi2 15W with BoostSolid Cell will cost $119.95 AUD. The UltraCharge Pro 10K 60W with BoostSolid Cell and Display will be priced at $149.95 AUD.
Both models are scheduled to arrive in January 2027 in black and sand. They will be sold through Belkin Australia, Amazon and selected retailers.
