When it comes to tech, it’s not exactly common to see popular devices get re-released due to their popularity, as seen with the likes of Apple’s iPhone SE handsets, for example. With that in mind, Sony has finally brought back its much-loved “XM4” noise cancelling headphones in the form of the new WH-1000XM4C Headphones, otherwise known as the M4 2nd Gen.

Priced at 300 bucks, Sony says that the “new” headphones are packed with a ton of features including Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity, 40mm driver units with frequencies ranging from 4 Hz to 40,000 Hz, and around 27 hours of continuous playback with active noise cancellation, and up to 34 hours with noise cancellation turned off. Meanwhile, continuous communication time runs up to 20 hours with noise cancellation on and 27 hours off.

As for its design, the new model pretty much resembles the original XM4 headphones, right down to the folding design. It’s also available in three different colours, including lavender, silver, and good ol’ black.

The M4 2nd Gen headphones are also equipped with an advanced noise-canceling optimizer, Quick Attention mode, and ambient sound controls. For wireless audio, the headphones work with SBC, AAC, and LDAC codecs across the 2.4 GHz band, with a frequency range up to 40,000 Hz at 96kHz sampling via high-bitrate LDAC streams. Interface support covers A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, and HSP profiles.
