They might not be the most popular vehicles on the road (especially among car enthusiasts), but it’s clear that smaller electric cars have slowly gotten popular over the years, thanks to a combination of pricing and general practicality. That said, Japanese auto giant Nissan recently announced that it was bringing back its “PIXO” model line, this time in the form of an all-electric A-segment city car.

According to the manufacturer, the new PIXO will be built in Europe for the European market, and will join Nissan’s growing electric lineup alongside the LEAF and MICRA, with a JUKE EV also on the way. Nissan will share full specifications, pricing, and design details when the PIXO makes its official debut on September 23, 2026.

Nissan is only one of many other manufacturers looking to expand their EV operations throughout Europe—not too long ago, Xiaomi announced that its auto division is finally entering the European market in 2027, with an initial rollout that’s set to kick off in Germany. The company signed initial Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with several of Germany’s largest automotive dealer networks.

Xiaomi will be partnering with established traditional retail groups including Ernst Dello GmbH & Co. KG, Autohaus Dinnebier GmbH, Emil Frey Germany, Fett & Wirtz Automobile GmbH & Co. KG, Hahn Automobile GmbH + Co. KG, LUEG Mobility GmbH, Penske-Jacobs Innovation GmbH, SPT Avior SE & Co. KG, instead of attempting a direct-to-consumer sales model.
