BOOX has introduced three new ePaper devices for 2026: the 10.3-inch Note Air6 C, compact Note Mini C and phone-sized Palma 3. All three feature a built-in front light, an octa-core processor, BOOX Super Refresh technology and Android 16.
The launch gives buyers three noticeably different form factors rather than three minor variations of the same device. The Note Air6 C is designed as a full-sized digital notebook, the Note Mini C offers similar functionality in a more portable design, and the Palma 3 focuses on reading and other low-distraction activities.
BOOX Note Air6 C improves performance and multitasking
The BOOX Note Air6 C succeeds the Note Air5 C while retaining its 10.3-inch HD colour ePaper display and paper-like writing experience.
Inside is a new 4nm octa-core processor accompanied by 6GB of RAM and BOOX Super Refresh technology. BOOX claims this combination reduces page-turn times by 40 per cent compared with the previous model, which should make navigating documents and Android applications feel more responsive.
The device also introduces upgraded 6.0 wireless connectivity. According to BOOX, this offers sufficiently low latency for synchronised audio sharing while still allowing accessories such as wireless earbuds and a mouse to remain connected.
Its native Notes application includes Outline, Tag and Search tools for organising handwritten content. A new Dual Note feature can display two notes simultaneously, either side by side or vertically. This could be particularly helpful when comparing documents or keeping reference material visible while writing.
Pogo pins on the rear let the Note Air6 C connect directly to BOOX’s keyboard cover. Combined with Android 16 and support for third-party applications, it positions the device somewhere between a traditional digital notebook and a lightweight productivity tablet.
We previously covered the BOOX Go 10.3 Gen II series, which takes a similarly productivity-focused approach but uses a monochrome display. The Note Air6 C will likely be more appealing to those who regularly work with colour-coded notes, charts and illustrated documents.
Note Mini C brings colour note-taking to a smaller display
The new BOOX Note Mini C takes many of the ideas behind the larger Note series and fits them into an 8.52-inch form factor. Its smaller size should make it easier to hold while reading and more practical to carry between meetings, classes or workspaces.
It uses an HD colour ePaper display suitable for viewing colour-coded charts, annotating documents and creating handwritten notes. BOOX describes the colours as soft and paper-like, so users should not expect the saturation of a conventional LCD or OLED tablet.
Despite its smaller dimensions, the Note Mini C includes 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot supports cards with capacities of up to 2TB, providing plenty of room for documents, ebooks and other files.
It is also compatible with the new magnetic InkSight stylus. Of the three models announced, I think the Note Mini C has the most interesting form factor. An 8.52-inch display could offer a useful middle ground for people who find phone-sized readers restrictive but do not want to carry a full 10.3-inch notebook.
Palma 3 offers a sharper monochrome reading experience
The BOOX Palma 3 continues the company’s phone-sized eReader concept, but with a redesigned body and an upgraded monochrome ePaper panel. BOOX says the new screen produces deeper blacks and improved contrast, which should benefit text clarity and general readability.
Unlike a conventional smartphone, the Palma 3 is intended to provide a quieter, lower-stimulation experience for reading books, listening to audiobooks and accessing selected Android applications. It runs the full Android 16 operating system, however, so users are not limited to a closed collection of reading services.
The Palma 3 includes 128GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for larger ebook and audiobook libraries. It also supports the InkSense Plus stylus, adding the option to write or annotate content despite its compact design.
Running an open version of Android remains one of the strongest parts of the BOOX approach. It gives readers more freedom to choose their preferred apps and content providers, although the experience will naturally remain different from using those applications on a conventional high-refresh-rate phone display.
Pricing and availability
The BOOX Note Air6 C is available to order now. It is priced at US$579.99, the BOOX Note Mini C will launch soon at US$579.99, and the BOOX Palma 3 will cost US$339.99.
