Square Enix has just revealed that its mobile gacha title, Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, will become available in 38 new countries as part of its half-anniversary celebration, raising its number of available regions to 66.
The announcement was made via a post on the game’s Global account on X (formerly Twitter) and confirmed Albania, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, India, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Nepal, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Trinidad and Tobago, Ukraine, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, and Venezuela as the chosen regions.
Users in the new countries will be able to officially download the title following its September 29 (UTC) update.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Director Naoki Hamaguchi Really Wants You to Play the Previous Games
Final Fantasy 7 Remake director Naoki Hamaguchi has corrected a viral message on social media that stated players could start with Revelation.
Together with the region list, the announcement featured an open letter from the game’s Producer Naoya Matsumoto, who personally addressed the community and thanked them for their continuous support before leaving an encouraging message. In his words: “We remain committed to creating a place where players from around the world can connect and share their love of FINAL FANTASY characters and stories.”

Unexpectedly for many, even if the announcement was met with an instant wave of approval by those glad to finally be able to officially dive in on their home countries, it did not get an overwhelmingly positive reception, with a large portion of the community asking the developers why their markets had been excluded from the wave.
‘Still no Indonesia???,’ a user replied, with many others wondering about their own nations not making the cut. The most common mention is naturally Brazil, largely considered to be the biggest gaming hub in South America.
The game’s lack of PC support is also a point of contention for fans, as it has been a feature present in gacha spin-offs published by Square Enix in recent years. It’s worth pointing out that Matsumoto’s letter did highlight that developers are still actively looking into ways to further increase the game’s reach in the future.
What Does This Mean for The Future of Dissidia Duellum?

Although many are already anticipating the worst following the announcement that Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, a canonical gacha spin-off for the FF7 compilation, would be ending its service next month, the message left by Matsumoto seems to indicate that Square Enix is still betting heavily on the Dissidia Duellum IP.

To add to that, the new scope of regions might help increase the game’s revenue (and thus its expected lifespan). Based on reports by GachaRevenue, which uses estimates sourced by SensorTower, Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy earned around $1,200,000 in August 2026, a 500K decrease from its July numbers. It’s worth pointing out that the values only seem to include in-game purchases.
A spin-off of the Dissidia franchise, Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy was first released on March 24, 2026, and allows players to take on 3v3 boss battles while using some of the franchise’s most popular names, who now find themselves stranded in modern-day Tokyo.
The game’s September 29 update is set to add Final Fantasy IX’s Kuja (Ranged/Wind) as a playable character, as well as feature the introduction of both new events and character balancing changes.
