Mistfall Hunter has a lot of things to keep track of and a lot of places to loot, but that doesn’t mean it’s all the best places to loot. If you’re looking for good loot in this extraction shooter, you’re probably going to need to look in some locked places like ARC Raiders.
These can range from some small areas to individual chests, but they’ll always be a preferred place to get loot provided you have the keys you need. You’ll also need a nice dose of luck from the RNG gods, but still your chances are better here than anywhere else.
This guide will cover what key you’ll need and where to find the chest exactly. Some of the chests can be decently hidden due to the layers of the map and such, but you don’t want to waste too much time searching.

Abyssal Alter Key
Finding the Abyssal Alter Key can be tough, especially in this extraction shooter given the number of items there are available. There are a couple of ways to get the key you need:
- Finding it in a chest
- Buying it from the Auction House
You’re going to have an easier time getting it at the Auction House, and you can even get better versions of that key to make the loot a bit better. Luckily, you don’t have to worry about any keys you find since they aren’t dropped on death.
Keys can also be used multiple times with multiple charges.

Abyssal Alter Chest Location
The key does offer some help for what you’re looking for, but it isn’t particularly descriptive. To find this chest, you’ll need to head to the second map, Brandrgarde, and make your way to the Abyssal Alter area in the top left corner of the map.
If you don’t spawn close by, and it’s outside the zone, it may not be worth the trouble, so be sure to plan accordingly before running off half-cocked. Once you see the words for the area appear, keep making your way to the back of the area.
There will be more than a few enemies in your way, but you should approach a slope that leads down into a trench. Down in that trench, up against the right side wall, is the chest you’re looking for.
Be very careful here, as a Berserker can spawn here, making the chest a bit more dangerous to get than some others. You should also explore to get rewards in the area if you have the time.
Depending on what kind of key you use to open the chest, you could get better loot than this. You can also repeat the process as many times as you can until the key finally breaks.
In this strange RPG, loot is pretty important, so make sure you’re grabbing the best things you can find. Once you have everything, extract back home and check out your winnings. You’re still only scratching the surface of this great extraction shooter.
