Google is rolling out the Android 17 QPR 1 Beta 8. The update will be available to AOSP and Google Pixel devices, as part of Feature Drops. The update focuses on critical bug fixes and system performance. Though it doesn’t bring new user-facing changes.

However, a fix for the loud audio distortion and static is one of the major changes in the new update. Also, it addresses a persistent buffer management flaw within the audio framework, (which results in random bursts of loud static and corrupted audio during media playback and system notifications).
Furthermore, there are other changes like: a fix for a Pixel Tablet Speaker Dock frequently going offline or failing to connect when attached, a fix for an NFC service regression, and an issue with fingerprint authentication as well.
Nevertheless, the new update is available for AOSP and all compatible Pixel devices enrolled in the Android Beta Programme (Pixel 6 onwards) as well.
