Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is no stranger to adopting newer silicon-carbon battery tech into its smartphones, which allow for larger capacities without compromising on size and portability. Take for example the new Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, which features one of the largest battery capacities that we’ve seen on a smartphone.
On the outside, the phone features a massive 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a rather high peak brightness of 3,500 nits. The screen is also protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, with a reasonably-sharp 1280 x 2772 resolution.
As mentioned, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max’s biggest highlight is its battery, which comes in the form of a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon cell, although the European version is capped at a still-massive 9,210mAh. These outsize batteries found on phones like the more expensive Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which comes with a 5,000mAh battery. The 17 Pro Max also supports 100W charging speeds, which is uncommon in most premium smartphones.
Inside, the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s 6 Gen 5 chipset and runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 android platform. There are multiple memory configurations to choose from, starting at 128GB of storage with 8GB of RAM, maxing out at 512GB of storage.

Other features include a dual-camera setup, which consists of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization, accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is priced at around $500 when converted, which puts it up against phones like the Google Pixel 10a, for example.
