The G305 has always had a devoted following, and it’s not hard to see why. The shape is compact and symmetrical with a slight hump toward the rear, which suits claw and fingertip grip styles particularly well. If you have smaller hands, this mouse will feel right at home. Those with larger hands looking for a palm grip may find it a tighter fit.
The weight sits at around 59–61g depending on the variant, and that lightness is noticeable during long sessions. I had no issues using it for hours of continuous gameplay.
In terms of connectivity, the G305 X SUPERLIGHT covers all the bases. You can connect via the LIGHTSPEED USB receiver for the lowest latency wireless experience, Bluetooth for multi-device flexibility, or plug in a USB-C cable for wired use (which also unlocks higher polling rates).

Tracking was accurate, flick shots registered exactly where I intended, and I never experienced any jitter or moments where the cursor seemed to lose its way.
The tactile feedback from the main buttons is satisfying too. Left-click in particular feels crisp and responsive, even during rapid clicks and burst-fire tapping. It’s the kind of feedback that makes you feel confident in every input, which matters in competitive play.
The G305 X SUPERLIGHT defaults to a 1,000 Hz polling rate in wireless mode. If you want to push that up to 4 kHz or the maximum 8 kHz, you’ll need to purchase the PRO Wireless Receiver separately. That’s an extra cost on top. Most players won’t notice the difference at 1,000 Hz, but if you’re chasing every competitive edge, budget for that additional purchase.
G HUB SOFTWARE
Logitech’s G HUB software lets you customise DPI settings across up to five levels, configure the six programmable buttons, set up macros and profiles, and tweak the LIGHTSYNC RGB lighting. The software is feature-rich and reasonably straightforward to navigate once you know where things are. If you want to set the mouse and forget it, you can do that too but the defaults are sensible enough to get you started without any tinkering.
BATTERY LIFE
Logitech claims 130+ hours of battery life over LIGHTSPEED, and while I can’t verify that over the course of a single review period, the mouse didn’t leave me scrambling for a charge. The fast USB-C charging is a nice addition with up to 3.5 hours of play from two minutes on the cable means you’re rarely stuck waiting.
