Google Translate is getting an update for its supported Android devices. The update makes capabilities flexible enough for users’ day-to-day.
With the new update for Android and iOS, the added features will assist users with translating over 70 languages in near real-time. Android users can hold live translation sessions that last longer than five minutes. Now, the Translate app can now continue translating even while in the background letting users hop into other apps and multitask or lock their phone.
Google Translate will continue working and reveal its translated content for you when you’re ready. This feature is available for Android users but will get to Apple iOS users in future.
Google Translate also added streaks for users practicing new languages and relies heavily on Gemini. The Translate app has headphone support for iOS and Android users. The different modes include: Listening, Conversation, and Text-only. Listening is for real-time translations. Conversation lets you speak in English and lets the person you’re talking to hear it in their native tongue.
