The 9th of September will mark the first time John Ternus will host an Apple event as CEO. During this event, the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max and Apple’s first foldable will be introduced. There’s the probability that the vanilla iPhone will not be launched until 2027. Reports have it that the new models to be unveiled on Wednesday will go on pre-order on Friday.
However, Yousif Ayman spotted the Apple iPhone Ultra on Vodafone Egypt. Note that iPhone Ultra is the name for Apple’s first foldable and it’s liable to change. Before the page was taken down, the phone was priced EGP 155,750.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at EGP 94,400, making the Ultra cost 65% more. Also as the 17 Pro Max was launched at $1,200 / £1,200 / €1,450 / ₹150,000, it’ll be comfortable to apply the 65% increase and arrive at a prediction of $1,980 / £1,980 / €2,395 / ₹247,500. They can be compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 launch prices since the Ultra is expected to be a wide foldable. The Z Fold8 launched at $1,900 / £1,700 / €2,000 / ₹180,000.
Reports reveal that the 256GB iPhone Ultra will be AUD 3,700, while the 512GB and 1TB models will be AUD 4,200 and AUD 4,700, respectively. Using the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max for comparison, it costs AUD 2,200, making the Ultra 68% more expensive. This is the same price ratio from the calculation based on Vodafone Egypt. There’s the likelihood that the base Ultra will get a $2,000 price tag.
Still according to Yousif Ayman’s post, Vodafone Egypt had the iPhone 18 Pro at EGP 98,000 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at EGP 105,000. Also on the Vodafone site, a 256GB iPhone 17 Pro is EGP 88,800 and an iPhone 17 Pro Max is EGP 94,400. This is a 10% price increase for the Pro and 11% for the Pro Max.
The iPhone 17 Pro launch prices were $1,100 / £1,100 / €1,300 / ₹135,000. With the 10% increase, it will come to $1,210 / £1,210 / €1,430 / ₹148,500. On the 9th of September, the actual prices will unfold.
