Google’s continued push to bring its AI features to nearly every platform imaginable has shown no signs of slowing down, and the company more recently announced that it has finally launched a native Gemini desktop app for Windows 10 and 11, which gives users instant AI access right over their active workflow. Part of Google’s announcement reads:

Today, we’re launching the Gemini app for Windows. Designed to work seamlessly alongside your favorite tools and daily applications, the new desktop app gives you instant assistance without breaking your flow.

Similar to how it works for MacOS, Windows users can easily summon Gemini on their computer by pressing “Alt + Space,” which then opens Gemini anywhere on the screen, allowing for quick fact-checks, document reviews, or other AI-related shenanigans without disrupting active tasks.

For dedicated workspace scenarios, users can delegate multi-step assignments to the Gemini Spark AI agent or draft project summaries by pulling files directly from Gmail and Google Drive. The software also comes with integration for multimedia generation tools, and lets users create custom images with Nano Banana and videos via Gemini Omni in a single location.

Just recently, Google announced that it’s integrating Google Photos into its new Spark AI model, which allows users to search, curate, and edit photos, extract text from images to schedule events or summarize receipts, and even organize weekly photos into shared albums and draft recap emails across connected apps like Gmail and Messages.
