Built-in microphones and speakers let you say ‘Alexa, turn on the TV’ or ‘Alexa, open Prime Video’ from across the room, and a single command takes you straight to the channel or app you want.
A built-in HDMI input, found only on the Fire TV Cube among Fire TV players, lets a supported set-top box or games console connect directly. Switching between streaming, live TV and gaming then happens from one voice or one remote.
Picture quality gets the same attention, with 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, Super Resolution Upscaling that converts HD pictures to 4K, and Dolby Atmos audio for sound that surrounds the whole room.
Wi-Fi 6E with tri-band technology brings smoother 4K streaming with less interference, while Alexa+ lets you find your next series by actor, plot or even an iconic quote and ask questions about what you are watching.
Alexa also handles more than viewing, so you can start a video call with a compatible webcam or pull up a live picture-in-picture view of your Ring camera without interrupting the series you are in.
Streaming, live TV, gaming and smart home control all run through the Fire TV Cube, and with £90 off the £199.99 RRP, £109.99 is a price made for anyone ready to simplify the living room.
