At £999, this is the phone we named the best camera phone for zoom in our best camera phones guide, and it now sits below the £1,000 mark, putting that zoom within reach for anyone waiting on a price like this.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra‘s zoom sits alongside a 1-inch Leica main sensor using LOFIC HDR, which our expert found excels in low light and produces beautifully soft bokeh. He called it one of the best smartphone camera systems on the market, with images closer to a professional mirrorless camera than a phone.
Reaching further is the 200MP telephoto, which mechanically shifts between 75mm and 100mm for genuine optical zoom across portraits and sport, while its large 1/1.4-inch sensor and clever processing keep cropped shots beyond that range remarkably detailed.

That same telephoto shoots 4K at up to 120fps alongside the main camera, and with a Log profile and Dolby Vision HDR recording on board, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra gives video makers the tools to grade footage properly afterwards.
Handling all that footage falls to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and our expert played Genshin Impact on maxed-out settings for 45 minutes without a single frame drop, with the phone barely warming up in his hand.

Those games look superb on the flat 6.9-inch 120Hz OLED screen, which peaks at 3500 nits, and the 6000mAh battery left our expert with around 30% at the end of a full day, while 30 minutes of charging reached 64%.
With Amazon’s limited time deal holding the Xiaomi 17 Ultra at £999, its lowest price in three months, this is the moment to pocket a £300 saving, 23% off its £1,299 RRP, while the offer lasts.
