We forget quite how long we have been waiting for official news from the next entry in Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls series, and now the studio has finally, finally lifted the lid on its title.
As revealed by Todd Howard himself in a new studio 40th anniversary video, the next game in the series is titled The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel (yep, the very same name that was reported last week).
The reveal doesn’t come with much more information than that. There’s a brief glimpse of a metallic scroll being unearthed from some sand, the title logo, and the following quote from ‘Yazar, Moth Priest of High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell’, but that’s it:
The scroll offered only a shimmer, a veil thinly lifted to my eyes. A future lost. A victory undone. Sands of time scattered by fate.
That’s all we have right now. Still no release date, still no confirmed platforms, still no gameplay. But hey, a name is a good start!
Given Bethesda’s support for Switch 2 so far, our fingers are crossed that we’ll see the next series entry come our way at some point (whenever that may be), but there’s no official word on that front for the moment, unfortunately.
What do you make of this title? Let us know in the comments.
Jim came to Nintendo Life in 2022 and, despite his insistence that The Minish Cap is the best Zelda game and his unwavering love for the Star Wars prequels (yes, really), he has continued to write news and features on the site ever since.
