Lenovo recently unveiled its first laptop which was manufactured in Saudi Arabia, which marks a massive step in the company’s push to expand its global production reach. According to Lenovo, the device was produced at its new Riyadh facility, which will begin mass production of select products in late 2026.
That said, the Riyadh plant will also be the first in Lenovo’s network of over 30 global sites to manufacture the company’s entire product portfolio, spanning PCs, servers, and Motorola smartphones. At LEAP last year Lenovo and ALAT announced an ambition to help establish Saudi Arabia as a global technology and manufacturing hub. Today, we are proud to unveil the first Lenovo laptop manufactured in the Kingdom. This announcement is proof of what can be achieved when long-term investment, local talent, and ambitious national goals come together. With this in mind Saudi Arabia will play an increasingly important role in Lenovo’s global manufacturing, innovation, and supply chain network.

The launch follows a year of regional expansion, which builds on the opening of Lenovo’s META Regional Headquarters in Riyadh. The company is also scaling its local research and development operations, and has partnered with Saudi Arabia’s ALAT, the Human Resources and Development Fund, and the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources to train local talent.

Beyond hardware production, Lenovo says that it’s planning on introducing enterprise AI solutions to the Saudi market. During LEAP 2026, the company demonstrated targeted technologies for the retail, sports, and industrial sectors, including a physical AI robotic inspection system designed to automate and secure physical inspections for the oil, gas, and utilities industries.
