Aramco Digital and Avathon on September 1, 2026 announced a strategic partnership to accelerate Industrial AI adoption across energy, mining, aerospace and transportation sectors in Saudi Arabia and global industrial markets.

The agreement pairs Aramco Digital, a Saudi Industrial AI company, with Avathon, a Pleasanton, California firm that describes itself as a provider of autonomy for operations. The companies framed the deal around combining Aramco Digital’s industrial expertise and technology capabilities with Avathon’s Physical AI and Autonomy Platform, with the stated goal of changing how complex industrial operations are understood, optimized and executed.

    What the Partnership Combines

According to the announcement published by Avathon, the partnership brings together decades of Aramco operating knowledge and Avathon’s experience applying AI in complex industrial environments. The companies said they aim to help organizations move beyond fragmented data and manual decision-making toward increasingly intelligent industrial operations.

For Aramco Digital, the companies said the partnership is intended to accelerate the development and commercialization of Industrial AI solutions that enable increasingly intelligent and autonomous operations. The announcement described the combined effort as drawing on Aramco Digital’s industrial expertise and Avathon’s capabilities in agentic AI, computational digital twins, manufacturing, energy optimization, and safe autonomous operations, with the aim of enabling faster deployment of proven solutions across Saudi Arabia and global industrial markets.

The companies also said they intend to apply AI to areas such as advanced materials and increasingly complex planning, logistics and supply chain operations. The stated objective is to help organizations make better decisions across interconnected industrial systems rather than optimizing individual processes in isolation. This approach, the companies said, is meant to address operations that span physical assets and engineering through to workforce knowledge and global supply chains.

“Aramco Digital is uniquely positioned to translate Aramco’s industrial scale and expertise into technology that can transform industry globally,” said Dr. Ashraf AlTahini, CEO of Aramco Digital. “Our partnership with Avathon combines that foundation with proven Industrial AI capabilities to address some of the most important challenges facing industrial organizations.”

    Target Industries and Global Reach

The companies said they will bring their capabilities to customers and partners across energy, aerospace and defense, mining, manufacturing, maritime, logistics and other critical industries, both in Saudi Arabia and in international markets. The partnership is also intended to connect an ecosystem of equipment manufacturers, hyperscalers and technology partners, enabling equipment makers to bring digital twins, asset intelligence and specialized models to their customers while allowing technology partners to contribute capabilities and infrastructure to Industrial AI deployments.

Pervinder Johar, CEO of Avathon, described the direction of the technology in the announcement. “Industrial AI is moving beyond systems that simply analyze what happened or recommend what to do next,” he said. “The opportunity is to create systems that understand complex operations and increasingly act on their own.”

Johar said Aramco Digital brings a combination of industrial expertise and scale, while Avathon brings a platform for turning industrial data and knowledge into autonomous action. He said the two companies together aim to help organizations reach a new level of operational performance.

    The Two Companies

Aramco Digital is a Saudi-based Industrial AI company focused on accelerating industrial digital transformation through advanced connectivity, digital platforms, cybersecurity, and AI-powered solutions. The company states that it provides critical industries with secure, reliable, and scalable digital capabilities, and that its integrated portfolio spans Digital Connectivity, Digital Industrial Solutions, Digital Platforms, and Digital Business Services.

According to Aramco Digital’s own description of its business, the company was established to lead industrial AI transformation and to help build the foundation for future digital economies. It says it designs and delivers industrial-grade digital products, advanced platforms, mission-critical infrastructure and end-to-end digital services, and that it supports the Kingdom’s digital economy ambitions in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030. The company lists AlTahini as Chief Executive Officer and says it operates through strategic business units covering products, platforms, solutions and services.

Avathon describes its Autonomy Platform as powering a workforce of autonomous agents that change how businesses plan, orchestrate and manage operations across aerospace, defense, manufacturing, energy, mining, supply chain and asset management. The company says the platform is deployed across a range of capital-intensive commercial and government industries.

Through the partnership, the companies said Avathon and Aramco Digital will bring Avathon’s deployment experience together with Aramco Digital’s industrial ecosystem to accelerate the adoption of Industrial AI across Saudi Arabia and global markets.

The companies did not disclose financial terms, a contract value, or a deployment timeline in the announcement.
