While wired earphones and headsets are still a thing, it goes without saying that most of the mainstream tech industry has mostly shifted to pushing wireless audio to consumers the world over, although this doesn’t necessarily mean that major brand players have completely done away with wired audio solutions. Take for example Bose, which recently launched its new Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds.
Priced at $99, the earbuds use USB-C connectivity instead of a 3.5mm jack along with an in-line remote with physical buttons, and a dedicated microphone. There’s a 4.2-foot cable as well, and the earbuds are also rated for IPX4 water resistance, making them safe to use with light moisture. Bose also includes interchangeable silicone eartips, stability wings, and a zippered carry case with the earbuds.
Inside, the earbuds feature Bose’s own QuietControl technology, which consists of four microphones which offer three distinct listening modes including Quiet Mode, Aware Mode, and an ANC Off Mode. The earbuds also use USB Audio Class 2 protocol, with support for lossless audio listening with 24bit/48kHz playback output and low-latency performance.
